How to check the NEET Result 2022?

The appeared candidates can check the NEET result 2022 on the official website post its release. The scorecard will also be available after the announcement of the result. The appeared candidates can download the score card up to 90 days from the date of the result. NEET Exam Marking Scheme

The maximum marks of NEET are 720. For each correct answer, 4 marks are allotted and for each incorrect answer, there is a negative marking of one by fourth of the marks i.e. -1. For the questions not attempted 0 marks are allotted. The basic formula is below:

Total marks in NEET = 4 X total Correct Answers – 1 X total wrong answers

The percentile score of the candidate is also calculated. The percentile score tells how many percentages of the appeared candidates have scored below and above your score.

NEET 2022 Cutoff marks

The cut-off marks are released along with the release of the result. The cut-off marks per category are declared on the official website of NTA. The cut-off marks are basically of two types:

  • Passing cut-off
  • Admission cut-off

The passing cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate has to gain to qualify for the exam and the Admission cut-off is the minimum marks to be obtained by a student to get admission for a particular course. The admission cut-off differs for courses like MBBS, BDS, etc. The cut-off marks are generally determined by three factors- the difficulty level of the exam, the number of seats available, and the number of candidates applied. NEET 2022 Merit List/ Rank card

NTA prepares the Merit list for those who have applied under 15% of all India quota and others. The list is then forwarded to the DGHS, Min. of Health and Family Welfare, Min. of AYUSH, and admitting authorities for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counselling. The admitting authorities announce the merit list and invite candidates for the further counselling process. The merit list is prepared on the basis of All India Rank (AIR), reservation criteria, and seat availability. In the case of two or more candidates having the same marks, a tie-breaker rule is used.

If two or more candidates got the same marks in the written examination the merit is determined by the following rules:

  • The candidate who obtained more marks in the Biology exam will be prioritized.
  • If the marks still remain the same then the candidate having the highest marks in Chemistry will be prioritized.
  • The candidate having more marks in physics will be prioritized.
  • The candidate having less number of incorrect answers in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics respectively will be prioritized.
  • The candidate older in age will be prioritized.
  • Lastly, the application number in ascending order will be checked.

NEET 2022 Counselling Process

The last step in the admission process is counselling. Candidates are invited to the online counselling process by the admitting authorities where they have to fill their choices of the colleges/ institutes. The allotment of the seats is done on the basis of marks obtained, category reservations, and availability of seats.
