Aspirants are reminded that they can not appear for the NEET 2023 wearing whatever they want. One must follow the official prescribed dress code to be allowed inside the exam room. There are certain accessories, footwear and ensembles which are unfit to be worn due to security reasons. Moreover, NTA has also enlisted the number and type of items not permitted inside the exam hall. If a candidate is caught with any of these barred items before or after the screening, they will be treated as Unfair Means Practices.

Punishment under UFM is three-year debarment for future exams and they can also be charged with criminal action if necessary. Hence, candidates should not ignore these vital instructions about the NTA NEET dress code before appearing for the exam. Those who applied under the category of wearing customary dress should go through instructions and a frisking process for them. Girls candidates should also be relieved that their security checks shall only be done by a female invigilator in a closed enclosure.

NTA NEET Exam Day Instruction

  • The exam centre is opened only two hours before the commencement of the examination for security checks and verifications.
  • Entry is prohibited after 1:30 pm under any circumstances.
  • Centre Superintendent will not allow entry without admit card.
  • NTA NEET Admit card can be demanded by the invigilators at any point of time during the exam.
  • Candidates must sit on the seat allowed to them (Admit card Roll Number = Seat). Otherwise, they will not be allowed to attempt the paper.
  • Invigilators will frequently check candidates’ admit cards, question papers and answer sheets and sign on these documents each time.

    • Printed format of the e-admit card with a passport-size photograph. (the same as that on the application form)
    • A few passport sizes photographs to attach to the attendance sheets and other official requirements. (the same as that on the application form)9
    • The invigilator should be delivered a proforma (downloaded with the admit card) pasted with Post Card size photograph (white background) (4” X6″ size)
    • An original photo Identity card issued by the government. Check the list to choose from.

    • Personal With Disability must bring the PwD certificate granted by a competent authority.

Candidates are instructed to follow the NEET dress code for males in 2023 before appearing for the exam centre. The authorities will not permit candidates not to follow the prescribed dress code.

  • Masks and Sanitizers are a must, following covid protocols.
  • Boys must wear a half-sleeved shirt or a T-shirt with small buttons.
  • Slippers and sandals for males with light soles.
  • There should not be too many pockets on the trousers.
  • Wear no Watch or bracelet.

  • Females should ensure that they are wearing half-sleeve shirts/tops.
  • The upper or the lower should not carry too many pockets, and simple outfits are recommended.

What not to wear according to the Dress code for NEET 2023?

No candidates who are dressed in the following manner will be allowed to appear for the national-level medical entrance exam. Candidates must know that these instructions are for their benefit of avoiding any confusion or delay in their exam during verification.

  • Light clothes with long sleeves are not permitted.
  • Shoes are not permitted.
  • High Heels and thick-soled shoes are not allowed.
  • Jewellery, hair and neck accessories and rings etc. are not permitted. (Metal Detector will cause unnecessary trouble for the candidates)
  • Big pockets and fashionable Jeans are not allowed
  • Candidates are not allowed to wear kurtas and pyjamas.
  • The outfit should not be too many pockets and zip pockets.
  • The buttons of the trouser or the shirt should not be too big, and
  • Clothes with intricate embroidery are not allowed.

Other NEET Barred items

The authorities will use highly sensitive metal detectors for frisking the candidates before they are allowed to enter the examination hall.   • Electronic Gadgets: Cell Phones, Bluetooth devices like Earphones, Calculators, Electronic Pen, Scanner, Microphones, pagers, Pen Drives, Health bands, watches, wristwatches, bracelets, Cameras, microchips etc.
  • Text or Paper items: Pen, Paper Scraps, Geometry box, Pencil Box/kit, Plastic Bag, Rular (Scale), Note Pad, Eraser, Log Table,
