CLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for both UG and PG courses are different in terms of educational qualifications.

UG Eligibility Criteria

  • Required qualification- Intermediate or equivalent degree from a recognized school/ university/ Institute.
  • Minimum 45% of marks in intermediate or equivalent degree for General / OBC / NRI/ PWD / OCI/ PIO categories.
  • Minimum 40% of marks in intermediate or equivalent degree for SC/ ST categories.
  • No upper age limit.
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam in March- April 2023 are also eligible to apply provided that they have to submit proof of passing the exam during the admission process.

PG Eligibility Criteria

  • Required qualification- LLB degree or equivalent from a recognized university/ Institute.

  • Minimum 45% of marks in LLB degree or equivalent for SC/ ST categories.

  • Candidates appearing for the required qualification exam in March- April 2023 are also eligible to apply provided that they have to submit proof of passing the exam during the admission process.

1. CLAT 2023 Registration Process

  • Visit the Official website www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Check for CLAT 2023 portal.
  • Select the option of “New Registration”.
  • Now you will be redirected to a registration form.
  • Fill in all the asked details like name, address, email, and phone number.
  • You will get a CLAT 2023 registration number and password on the registered mail ID and mobile number.
  • After completing CLAT 2023 registration move on with the complete application form.

2. Complete the Application form

After the CLAT 2023 registration candidates have to select the option of ”complete application form”. The candidates are advised to keep all the required documents ready which are to be uploaded during the application process. The documents should be in the desired sizes, resolution, and format.   • Select the option of “Complete Application Form”.
  • Now you will be redirected to a login window.
  • Login using the CLAT 2023 registration number and password obtained from the registration process.
  • Fill in personal details, Communication details, educational details, and work experience(if any).
  • Enter your preferred test centres.
  • Upload all the asked documents like photograph signature and domicile in the required size and format.
  • Lastly, pay the application fee and submit the application form.

3. Application Fee Payment

The last step to complete the application form is the payment of the application fee. Candidates are required to pay the fee using the permitted payment gateway. After payment click on the ”susubmitspplication form”. The fee structure is as follows:

Exam Format of CLAT 2023

The exam formats for both UG and PG courses are different. Authorities have decided to change the type of the questions from comprehensive-based to objective-based. The time allotted for both the papers is 2 hours. The exam scheme is summarized below in the table:

CLAT 2023 Selection Procedure

The CLAT Selection procedure comprises a written test which is followed by a centralized counselling process. After the written exam, the result is declared and score cards are released. The CLAT score card is valid for 1 year only. After that, a merit list is declared which consists of AIR of candidates. Candidates clearing the exam are then eligible to take part in the online counselling process which is done on a national level. In the counselling process, candidates opt for the choices of course and the university/ college they want to take admissions to. Allotment of colleges is given based on the AIR/ merit list. After the counselling further admission formalities take place.
